SDA Tennis Team – 10–2 Record

Saint Dominic Academy Tennis Team Finishes Season with a 10–2 Record

Jersey City, NJ – October 23, 2025 – The Saint Dominic Academy (SDA) Blue Devils tennis team closed out an outstanding season with a hard-fought 3–2 victory over Dickinson High School in their final match. With the score tied at 2–2, the deciding match came down to first singles. Freshman Isabella Galvez secured the win by taking the first set 7–5 and securing the match with a 6–4 second set.The win capped a stellar season for the Blue Devils, who finished with a Division Record of 8–0, a Regular Season Record of 9–1, and an Overall Season Record of 10–2, including postseason play.

“Tennis is a team sport in every sense, and this group really exemplified that,” said Head Coach Biron Lim. “Getting Izzy (Isabella G.) was fantastic. Having a freshman step in as the team’s number one player was huge. She came through in several clutch matches that helped us secure key wins. We have senior, Trinity Policarpio one of our captains, who had a perfect win record this season. Four of our team victories ended 3–2, and in our two losses, both 1–4, Trinity was our only win. That says a lot about her consistency and leadership.”

Coach Lim commended the team’s dedication and resilience throughout the season, emphasizing that each player’s effort contributed to a remarkable year for SDA Tennis. Brian Callahan, Athletic Director, praised the team’s accomplishments, saying, “What a great start to the new school year. This group of young women truly excelled this season! We saw strong leadership from our seniors, supported by a talented group of younger players. The future is bright for this team!”
